The Frogeye Sprite featured in this commissioned illustration was a fondly remembered first car. I was supplied a black and white photo taken in 1963. It wasn’t taken at an angle I would want to use but the background I quite liked. The photo enabled me to see some of the details, like only one wing mirror, steel wheels and a front bumper, that not all of them had. Then a quick chat about the colour was all I needed.
With a discount on the price of the commission, it was agreed I could use the image for greetings cards and prints for sale.
